Planning an at-home video visit with someone at Rappahannock Regional Jail? The details that trip people up are usually timing, prepayment, and cancellation deadlines. Here's what to know before you book.
At-home visits at Rappahannock Regional Jail are available Monday through Friday in the EST time zone. There are two daily windows: 9:00AM to 10:45AM and 1:30PM to 4:15PM. If you're booking from outside the area, double-check the time zone so you don't accidentally miss your start time.
Weekly limit: Inmates are allowed one 45-minute visit each week, so plan ahead before you schedule and pay for a session.
At-home (online) video visits are listed at $15 for up to a 25-minute session. Prices and times can change, so the scheduling system may show the most current details when you book.
You have to schedule your visit in advance. RRJ requires appointments to be made 24 to 72 hours ahead of time. You also have to pre-pay for each scheduled session before the visit happens, not at the time of the call or after.
Refunds depend on how early you cancel. Cancel at least 48 hours ahead and you get a full refund. Between 24 and 48 hours? You get 50% back. Less than 24 hours before the visit? No refund.

You'll need a valid email address you can actually receive messages at. RRJ requires an email for account creation, and you'll use it for the online registration tool to register and schedule visits.

Treat an at-home video visit like an in-facility visit. RRJ requires visitors to remain seated during the call. No standing in the visitation booth, no stacking chairs. Damage to equipment or the facility can lead to criminal charges and restitution. Profanity is not allowed.
Be on time. If you're 10 minutes late to your scheduled visit, RRJ cancels it automatically.
