How to Send Mail and Photos to Someone at Rappahannock Regional Jail

RRJ uses TextBehind.com to process all personal inmate correspondence. Send your letters and photos through the vendor - don't mail personal correspondence directly to the jail.

When mailing through USPS, address the envelope exactly as RRJ requires. Put your full name and address in the upper-left corner. In the center, write: "Rappahannock Regional Jail, VA" on the first line, then "Inmate's Name, Inmate Identifier" below that, followed by "P.O. Box 247" and "Phoenix, MD 21131." Double-check the inmate's legal name and ID number - getting these right prevents delays.

Keep photo prints small. Pictures mailed to inmates may be no larger than 4" x 6".

Don't overdo it in one envelope. RRJ allows a maximum of 20 photos per mailing.

Some items can't be mailed in. RRJ doesn't allow blank envelopes, blank paper, postage stamps, or pre-paid envelopes through the mail. If your loved one needs these supplies, they'll have to purchase them through commissary.

3. Include your full return address - Put your full name and full address in the upper-left corner so the mail meets the addressing requirement.
4. Keep photos within limits - Use prints no larger than 4" x 6" and include no more than 20 photos in a single mailing.
