How to Sign Up for a Visit at RADF: Step-by-Step (hours, one-hour rule, and ID)
Visiting someone at RADF gets a lot simpler once you know the sign-up window, the one-hour cut-off, and what ID to bring. Here's how to avoid showing up and getting turned away.
In-person barrier visits at RADF resumed on March 20, 2023. The sign-up rules below reflect the current process.
Sign-ups run from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm on the day of your visit. You can't sign up ahead of time - it's same-day only. Plan your arrival so you have time to get in line within that window.
Don’t miss the cut-off: You must sign up at least one hour before your scheduled visit time, and sign-ups are handled first-come, first-served.
Bring a valid U.S. government ID - local, state, or federal. You'll need it both to sign up and to visit. No ID, no visit.
- ✓ Your ID must show your name
- ✓ Your ID must show your date of birth
- ✓ Your ID must include your photograph
- ✓ Your ID must be current (not expired)
Expect a search at check-in. Keep what you bring simple and easy to screen.
- ✓ Bring only your identification, a wallet, and/or car or home keys
- ✓ Do not bring purses, bags, or similar items into the facility
- ✓ Store and secure any prohibited items yourself; the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department is not liable for items left unattended
