How to Send Money to Rhode Island DOC (RI)

Rhode Island DOC restricts who can deposit money into an incarcerated person's account. After an initial window, you must be on the inmate's visiting list to make a deposit. There's a 30-day grace period at the start, so anyone can send money while the inmate adds people to their visiting list.

If you want to send funds by mail, RIDOC accepts a check, bank draft, or money order. Make it payable to “RI Department of Corrections,” and write the inmate’s name and ID number on the memo line so it reaches the correct account. Mail it to: RI Department of Corrections, Inmate Accounts Office, 51 West Road, Bldg. 138, Cranston, RI 02920.

RIDOC accepts electronic deposits through Access Corrections for online payments. You can also deposit by phone through Access Secure Deposits at 1-866-345-1884. Phone deposits may include a fee.

Deposit kiosks are available at the John O. Pastore Government Center, 51 West Road, Cranston, RI 02920. This is right next to the John Moran Facility.
