If you're 18 or older, bring a photo ID every time you visit Richland Parish Detention Center. Even if you've been before, you'll need to show it again - no exceptions.

  • Batteries
  • Chargers
  • Cameras or recording devices

Warning: Phones, SIM cards, chargers, cameras, and any other telecommunications equipment count as contraband. Leave them in your car.

Dress conservatively. Skirts, shorts, skorts, culottes, and dresses must be no shorter than three inches above the kneecap - and no deep or revealing slits. Midriff-baring tops aren't allowed, and neither is anything resembling offender or officer uniforms.

Note: Sheer/transparent clothing and swimwear aren’t permitted, and you must wear shoes.

Infant Items

  • Four diapers
  • Two jars of vacuum-sealed baby food
  • Two plastic bottles of milk or juice
  • One change of clothing
  • One baby blanket (maximum 48 inches by 48 inches)
  • One clear plastic bag of baby wipes

Note: Baby items (except the baby blanket) must be stored in a single clear plastic container, and everything is subject to search.

Need to bring medication? Only life-saving or life-sustaining prescriptions are allowed. Bring just enough for the visit - no extra doses.

  1. Tell the visiting desk staff right away - when you arrive, advise institutional staff at the visiting desk that you’re in possession of medication.
