Richmond County Sheriff's Office offers two-way, real-time video visitation. You and your loved one speak live on camera. Every visit needs to be scheduled and approved beforehand, so the key is getting your registration in early and then booking an available time.

One limit to plan around: each inmate gets one visit per week. If you're coordinating with other family members, decide who's using that weekly slot before anyone schedules.

  1. Go to InmateSales.com: This is the provider Richmond County uses for video visitation.
  2. Create your account: Complete the registration process on the site with your information.
  3. Call for help if you get stuck: InmateSales customer service can assist at 1-877-998-5678.

After you register, the Visitor Center can take up to 72 business hours to approve or deny your registration. If you're hoping to visit on a specific date, register a few days ahead so you're not stuck waiting on approval at the last minute.

Once you're approved, keep two timing rules in mind. Visits must be scheduled the day before, and you can book up to one week in advance. Video visitation runs Monday through Friday, 09:00 to 11:30 and 12:30 to 16:00, so you'll be picking a slot within those windows.

  • If you prefer to schedule in person, you can schedule on-site at one of two kiosks in the Visitor Center.
  • Bring your photo ID with you so you are ready to properly identify yourself if asked.
  • Have your loved one’s information ready so you can complete the scheduling without delays.

  • Check in 15 minutes before your scheduled visit time. If you arrive late, you may only get the remaining time, or you may be denied.
  • Bring an accepted picture ID: a valid Georgia (or other state) driver’s license, a valid passport, or a valid military ID.
  • Make sure you are the person who is scheduled. Only those scheduled to visit are allowed in the video visitation area.
  • Plan ahead before you step out. Once you leave the video visitation area, you will not be allowed back in.

Note: All visitors are monitored and are subject to recording and search.

During your scheduled slot, you'll have a live, two-way video conversation. Staff work from a set list and schedule, so being on time and properly checked in keeps things running smoothly.

If you run into trouble creating your account or scheduling, start with InmateSales. You can register at InmateSales.com or call their customer service line at 1-877-998-5678 for help.

For questions about the visitation policy itself, talk to Visitor Center personnel. If they can't answer your question, ask for a Shift Supervisor. For inmate-related questions (release date, bail amount, sentence information, or other inquiries), call the Booking Desk at 706-821-1110.

Timing is usually the make-or-break issue. Registration can take up to 72 business hours, and visits must be scheduled the day prior (with booking only available up to one week out). If you're close to the day you want to visit and still waiting on approval, tackle the registration issue first. Then schedule as soon as you're cleared, within that one-week window.
