What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for an On‑Site Video Visit at Richmond County Jail
On-site video visits at Richmond County Jail happen at video kiosks inside the facility. A little prep goes a long way—use the checklist below so you show up ready and don't lose your visit over something avoidable.
Bring a valid photo ID. Richmond County Jail requires all on-site video visitors to show government-issued photo identification before entering the visitation area. Don't leave it in the car - or at home.
Set up your account before you go. Richmond County Jail uses iWebVisit/PayTel Connect for visitation, and you must register with PayTel before scheduling an on-site video visit. Create your account here: https://www.paytelconnect.com/SignIn
Plan your group size ahead of time. Only three people can be in the visitation area per kiosk. If more family wants to come, you'll need to rotate or split into separate visits. The PayTel account must be in the legal name of the primary visitor - that person pays for the visit and is responsible for everyone's behavior during it.
Note: Richmond County Jail has two video visitation kiosks available for on‑site visits, so availability can be tight during busy times.
ID Prohibited Items Behaviors
- ✓ Drugs or drug paraphernalia (do not use or display)
- ✓ Guns, weapons, or violent imagery (do not display)
- ✓ Gang-related clothing or symbols (do not display)
- ✓ Pornographic images or nudity of any kind (do not display)
- ✓ Sexually explicit or inappropriate clothing, including swimsuits, exposed underwear, or shorts/skirts cut higher than 3 inches above the knee
- ✓ Do not stream, record, or take pictures of your visit
- ✓ Do not conduct third-party calls while visiting
- ✓ Do not allow blocked visitors to use your account
- ✓ Do not allow unauthorized communication between inmates
- ✓ Assume you are being observed: visits are never private at Richmond County Jail
One rule that catches people off guard: don't operate a motor vehicle during your visit. If you're driving, handle anything car-related before the visit starts.
