If Your Loved One Has a Disability: ADA Accommodations at Contra Costa County Jails
If your loved one — or you, as a visitor — needs an ADA accommodation at a Contra Costa County jail, you can submit a formal request or complaint. The process is straightforward: provide the right details and send it to the correct office within 14 days.
Submit your ADA request or complaint in writing. Include your name, address, and phone number, plus the location and date of the issue. Describe exactly what happened and what accommodation or fix you're asking for. The more specific you are, the easier it is for the ADA Coordinator to act on your request.

- Find the right form - Use the ADA Inmate Grievance form, or use an Inmate Request Slip.
- Get it from your housing unit - An Inmate Request Slip is located on every housing unit at every facility.
- Submit your request/complaint - Turn in the ADA Inmate Grievance form or Inmate Request Slip following your facility’s normal submission procedure.
