Visiting someone at River North Correctional Center? Here's the simplest way to think about the dress code: your clothing needs to cover you from neck to kneecaps. Underwear is required. If your outfit doesn't meet these basics, you'll be turned away before you ever reach the visiting area. When in doubt, go conservative.

Prohibited Examples

• ✓ Tube tops, tank tops, or halter tops
• ✓ Clothing that exposes your midriff, side, or back
• ✓ Mini-skirts, mini-dresses, shorts, skorts, or culottes that are at or above the kneecap
• ✓ Form-fitting clothing such as leotards, spandex, and leggings
• ✓ See-through clothing, or tops/dresses with revealing necklines or excessive splits
• ✓ Clothing that resembles offender clothing

Video visits still have timing rules - show up late, and you could lose your visit entirely. For home internet video visits, log into the GTL system 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Using the AFOI Visitor Center? Arrive at least 20 minutes early. As for what to wear, stick with the same conservative standards as an in-person visit. Don't assume "it's just on camera" means anything goes.

1. Check your outfit the night before - make sure what you’re wearing covers from the neck to the kneecaps and that you’re wearing underwear.
2. Bring a simple cover-up - if your top is borderline, swap it or add a layer so you’re not risking a denial.
