How to Send Money to Someone at Riverbend Max: JPay vs. ConnectNetwork (What Families Need to Know)

At Riverbend Max (TDOC), all deposits to an inmate's trust fund go through TDOC-approved vendors. Your two options are JPay and ConnectNetwork (ViaPath/AdvancePay). You'll make the deposit through the vendor's website or contact them directly - you can't send money straight to your loved one.

Why the trust fund system? Inmates can't possess cash or payment cards of any kind - no credit cards, debit cards, rebate cards, or tokens. The only way to get funds to your loved one is through their trust account via an approved vendor.

Note: Don’t try to send cash or cards directly to an inmate. Use the approved trust-fund deposit channels instead.

  • Credit/debit card payment online through the vendor’s secure website (JPay or ConnectNetwork)
  • Credit/debit card payment by phone through the vendor’s toll-free customer service line
  • Credit/debit card payment through the vendor’s mobile application
  • Payments at select retail outlets that subcontract with the vendor
  • Money orders mailed to a P.O. Box provided by the vendor

Online deposits are the most straightforward option - just use a credit or debit card through the vendor's secure website. If you'd rather not pay online, money orders work too. You'll mail them to a P.O. Box the vendor provides, following their specific instructions.

The best option depends on what works for you. Online credit or debit deposits are quick and convenient. Phone deposits let you talk to customer service while you pay. Some people prefer using a mobile app; others like paying in person at a participating retail location. Money orders are ideal if you don't have a card or prefer not to use one online. Whichever method you choose, fees vary by vendor and payment type - check the vendor's current fee schedule before you finalize the deposit.

Tip: If you’re using a money order, send it to the vendor’s specified P.O. Box and follow the vendor’s mailing instructions closely.
