Visiting People Held at DC or ASD? Report to Riverside’s Visiting Lobby

If the person you're visiting is at the Detention Center (DC), Alternative & Special Detention Center (ASD), or ASD MOD III, don't go to those facilities. All visits happen at the Riverside Correctional Facility (RCF) visiting lobby.

You'll check in at Riverside's lobby, but visits still require an appointment. Slots are first-come, first-served. You can schedule no sooner than 48 hours ahead and no more than seven days in advance.

Arrive at least ten minutes before your scheduled time - that's the minimum. Earlier is better. Check-in takes a while, and getting there with time to spare makes the whole process less rushed.

Section Waits Lockers Searches

  • Bring quarters for a locker in the visiting area.
  • Don’t count on getting change there - there’s no change machine in the waiting room.

What to expect at screening: Each visitor is searched in a private room, and you may be asked to loosen undergarments during the search. You’ll also go through a metal detector.

Budget extra time for the full check-in process. You'll stash personal items in a locker (bring quarters), go through a private-room search, and pass through a metal detector. Even after you're cleared, it can take a while for the person you're visiting to be brought to the visiting room. Building in extra time makes the day a lot less stressful.
