How to Contact an Inmate at RJ Donovan Correctional Facility (PA)

Connecting with someone at this facility through Pennsylvania DOC remote video visitation means going through the Inmate Visitation System (IVS). The actual visit runs on Zoom.

PA DOC video visits use IVS for scheduling, and the visit itself happens on Zoom. You have two ways to join: click the Video Call URL (found in your IVS "upcoming visits" list or your automated confirmation email), or manually enter the Meeting ID and Password in the Zoom app. If you click the URL, it opens the Zoom site. Select "Launch Meeting" and enter your name or email. The Meeting ID should auto-populate when you join this way.

Note: You can only join up to 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. Try to enter earlier than that, and you won't be allowed in.

  • ✓ Open IVS and find your visit under upcoming visits, then click the “Video Call URL.”
  • ✓ Or open the automated confirmation email for the visit and use the URL provided there.
  • ✓ If you’re joining by URL, the link will take you to Zoom. Select “Launch Meeting” to start joining.
  • ✓ When prompted, enter your name or email address. (The Meeting ID should auto-populate when you join from the URL.)
  • ✓ If you’re joining from the Zoom app instead, use the Meeting ID and Password from the automated confirmation email.
  1. Pick how you’ll join (app or browser). On Windows, Mac, or Linux, you can use the downloaded Zoom Meeting app or join from a web browser.
  2. Get your visit details ready. Use the Video Call URL from IVS upcoming visits or the URL from your automated confirmation email. If you plan to join in the Zoom app, have the Meeting ID and Password from that email.
  3. Time your login. Plan to join no earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. Earlier attempts won’t be allowed.
  4. Join and complete the Zoom prompts. If you used the URL, select “Launch Meeting” on Zoom and enter your name or email to proceed.

Before the day of your visit, know where you'll find your join information. The Video Call URL is listed in IVS under your visitor account (upcoming visits) and also arrives in the automated confirmation email. Planning to use the Zoom app instead of the URL? Double-check that you have the Meeting ID and Password from the confirmation email for that specific visit.

Reminder: Your experience may differ depending on whether you use the Zoom app or a web browser. If you're unsure what will work best, check the supported setup details in your IVS account and visit confirmation. And remember: you can join no earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled start.
