AdvancePay is the prepaid phone account for calls from RMC Work Camp. Here's the key part: it's recipient-funded. You (the person receiving calls) set up the account and add money. When your loved one calls, the balance covers the cost.

Calls within the North American Dialing Plan cost $0.135 per minute. Keep that rate in mind when deciding how much to add to your AdvancePay balance.

GTL gives every incarcerated person one free 5-minute call per week. This applies to the first call of the week, and you'll hear a message before accepting letting you know it's free.

Calls max out at 30 minutes. Even with plenty of balance, the system cuts off when time's up.

Got disconnected? Your loved one can't call back immediately. The system enforces a 30-minute wait between completed calls, so the next one has to wait until that window passes.

  1. Create your ConnectNetwork account - this is the first step to using AdvancePay, since AdvancePay is the prepaid account you manage and fund to receive calls.
  2. Enter your name exactly as it appears on your government-issued photo ID - your first and last name should match your ID (like your driver’s license) because it may need to match official visitation information for security purposes.
  3. Add funds to your AdvancePay balance - once the account is set up, you can fund it so calls can be paid from your prepaid balance when your loved one calls.

Adding money to AdvancePay may include a small transaction fee. You'll see the fee before completing the transaction, so you can adjust if needed.

Voicemail works through the Inmate Voicemail System. Call in, follow the prompts, and enter your loved one's 7-digit PIN to leave a message.

Common Pitfalls

  • Don’t attempt a 3-way call
  • Don’t try to transfer the call
  • Don’t put the inmate on hold
  • Don’t use or answer call waiting during the call
