Call 951-341-8888 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to schedule your visit at Robert Presley Detention Center. If you only do one thing before driving over, make it this. Scheduling by phone is what sets everything else in motion.

What to expect: Inmates can have a maximum of two visits per week, and each visit is approximately 45 minutes.

Checkin ID Search

  • Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID.
  • Visitors must be 18 or older. If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Security screening: Visitors may be searched (you and your belongings) and may be subject to warrant checks and arrest.

Dress Code

  • Dress in appropriate attire. If you do not comply with the dress code, you can be denied your visit.
  • Avoid clothing that refers to gang affiliation, shows sexual or lewd comments or pictures, or could be offensive to others.
  • Make sure your clothing covers your upper torso and your lower/mid body.
  • If you wear a dress, skirt, pants, or shorts, it must not be more than two inches above the knee (including slits when standing).

Prohibited Items Lobby

  • Do not bring alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, tear gas/O.C. dispensers, cameras, or knives into the visiting area.
  • No smoking is allowed in any part of the jail, including the lobby.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the lobby or visiting areas.

Metered street parking is available on the streets surrounding the jail. You can also use two public parking structures at the corner of Lemon and 12th Street. The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner main address is 4095 Lemon Street, Riverside, CA 92501, and the phone number is 951-955-2400.

Robert Presley Detention Center currently allows two visitors per inmate due to physical distancing requirements. Plan your group accordingly. Inmates are limited to two visits per week, with each visit lasting approximately 45 minutes. If more than two people want to go, decide ahead of time who will use those two spots.

No swapping: You can only visit the inmate you signed up to see. You cannot change or trade inmates with another visitor.

Security rules are enforced on the spot. You may be searched (including your belongings), and you may be subject to warrant checks and arrest. Come prepared to follow directions and keep your pockets and bags simple. One more thing: once you leave the visitation area, your visit is terminated. Handle anything you need (bathroom, phone calls, grabbing items from your car) before you go in.
