How property bonds work at Rockdale County: requirements, hours, and fees
Posting a property bond can feel paperwork-heavy, but it gets simpler once you know Rockdale County's specific rules. Here's what you need to know about requirements, submission hours, upfront costs, and how refunds work after the case wraps up.
Rockdale County accepts property bonds Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. They don't process property bonds on holidays, so plan ahead if you're working against a deadline.
For cash bonds, Rockdale County accepts cash or a cashier's check for the exact bond amount. Short payments won't be accepted, so make sure your payment covers the full total.
The property's equity must be at least double the bond amount. That means the portion you actually own (after subtracting any debt) needs to be twice what the bond is set at.
Every owner listed on the deed must sign the property bond affidavit in person, with a deputy present. If the property is in Rockdale County, all deed holders need to appear at the Rockdale County Jail to sign. Coordinate schedules beforehand so everyone can be there.

Bonds of $25,000 or more require a title search, which must be completed within five business days. A licensed attorney in good standing has to perform the search.
There's a $20 cash bond fee due when you submit. Bring exact change, as that's the policy.
Going through a private bonding company? Their fees are separate from what the jail or court charges. Get the total cost in writing before signing anything, including any payment schedule or extra charges.
One exception catches people off guard: cash bonds for the City of Conyers must be paid directly to Municipal Court at 1194 Scott Street, Conyers, GA 30012, not through the jail.
Once the case is resolved, the jail doesn't handle refunds. Contact the Rockdale County Clerk of Courts for any refund or return questions. You can reach them at (770) 278-7900 or visit 922 Court Street NE, Conyers, GA 30012.
