When You Can Visit: Rockingham‑Harrisonburg's Schedule by Housing Unit

At Rockingham‑Harrisonburg Jail, visitation is tied to the inmate’s housing unit, so the day and time you can visit depends on where they’re currently housed. Plan around that schedule and don’t count on being able to “try again later” the same day - an inmate can receive only one visit per day on their scheduled day (attorney/client and minister visits are the exception).

Thursday visits are at 8:00 PM for housing units 2N4 and 2N5.

Friday’s session is at 7:00 PM, and it serves housing unit 2S1 and the medical unit.

Saturday's 9:00 AM session covers housing units 2S3, 2S4, and 2S5.

The 1:00 PM Saturday session is for housing units 3S1, 3S2, 3S3, 3S4, and 3S5.

Saturday evening at 7:00 PM is reserved for housing unit 2S2.

Sunday's 9:00 AM session covers housing units 2N1, 2N2, and 2N3, plus females in medical.

Sunday’s 1:00 PM session is for housing units 3N1, 3N2, 3N3, 3N4, and 3N5.

Confirm Unit

• ✓ Ask the inmate which housing unit they’re in (if you’re able to communicate with them before your trip)
• ✓ Call the facility to confirm the current housing unit and the matching visitation session
• ✓ Double-check the day and time for that unit before you travel, since the schedule depends on housing placement

1. Arrive at least 20 minutes early to sign in - visitors must be at the facility twenty minutes before the scheduled start time.
2. Don’t count on being allowed in if you’re late - once visitation starts, late arrivals aren’t allowed.

If you’re unsure which session applies, call ahead instead of guessing or trying to switch to a different time slot. Since inmates can receive only one visit per day on their scheduled day (with attorney/client or minister visits as exceptions), a wrong-session attempt can easily turn into a wasted trip.
