How to Send Mail to Someone at Rogelio Sanchez State Jail (Digital Mail Process)
Rogelio Sanchez State Jail uses TDCJ's digital mail system — your letter won't arrive as the original paper. Instead, it gets scanned and delivered electronically. Here's how to address it correctly.
As of September 6, 2023, all TDCJ units use a digital mail platform. Your letter gets sent to a processing center, scanned, and uploaded to the incarcerated person's secure tablet. They won't receive the original envelope or pages (with some exceptions).
Send your letter to the TDCJ Digital Mail Processing Center - not directly to the facility. Use this format: Texas Department of Criminal Justice Inmate's Full First and Last Name + TDCJ Number PO Box 660400 Dallas, TX 75266-0400
- ✓ Inmate’s full first and last name
- ✓ Inmate’s TDCJ number
- ✓ The unit address on the envelope
Once your mail arrives at the processing center, staff sort it, scan it, and upload the images. The person you're writing to views it on their secure tablet. No tablet? They'll get black-and-white printed copies instead.
Note: Some mail types are handled differently than standard personal letters under TDCJ's digital mail process.
