TDCJ switched all units to a digital mail platform on September 6, 2023. Letters no longer go directly to the unit. Instead, incoming mail is sent to a processing center, where staff sort it, scan it, and upload it to the person's secure inmate tablet.

Address the envelope to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Digital Mail Processing Center. Include the incarcerated person's full first and last name along with their TDCJ number. The mailing address is PO Box 660400, Dallas, TX 75266-0400.

1. Mail your letter to the digital processing center - This is where incoming mail for TDCJ is routed under the digital mail platform.
2. TDCJ sorts the incoming mail - The processing center receives and organizes mail for delivery through the digital system.
