How to Set Up Your TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler Account (Step-by-Step)
Want to schedule a visit through TDCJ's Online Visitation Scheduler? You'll need to create an account first. Here's a walkthrough of the exact screens that trip people up—so you can get registered and move on to booking your visit.
You have to create your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account. Prison staff can't do this for you. If you're waiting for someone to "make you an account," you'll be stuck. Start the registration yourself. Once your account exists, staff can help with certain updates (like names and addresses) - but only after the fact.
- Click “Create an Account” - this starts the first-time registration process.
- Enter a valid email address and submit - use an email you can open right now.
- Check your email for the registration message - it will include a 7-digit validation code and a link.
- Use the 7-digit code and the link to finish registration - you’ll need both to complete the account setup.
Tip: Don’t use an email you can’t access. The 7-digit code and the registration link sent to your inbox are required to complete your account.
During registration, you'll hit the Background Questionnaire. Every question must be answered before the system lets you continue. Skip anything, and your setup won't be complete - you'll end up looping back to fix missing answers.
- ✓ Answer every question on the Background Questionnaire before trying to continue
- ✓ Don’t leave any items blank - missing answers will stop you from moving forward
- ✓ Look for the “Update Complete” message after you submit to confirm it went through
On the Visitor Profile page, fill out all required fields. For your phone number, the scheduler expects this exact format: XXX XXX XXXX, with spaces instead of dashes (for example, 210 555 1234). Type it with dashes, and you'll trigger an error that blocks your profile from being accepted.
- Go to the login screen and enter your email address - use the email you registered with.
- Click “Forgot Password/Reset Password” - this starts the recovery process.
- Open the email you receive and follow the reset steps - the message will walk you through setting a new password.
Important: Once an account is created for an email address, that account can’t be deleted - and the email address on the account can’t be changed.
Once your account is set up, your next step is adding the incarcerated person so you can request a visit. Keep your login email handy - you'll need it anytime you sign in or reset your password.
