How to Set Up Your TDCJ Visitation Scheduler Account (avoid common mistakes)

You have to create your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account - staff can't do it for you. Once it's set up, they can help update things like your name or address, but that initial registration is on you. Get your email and profile info right the first time to avoid headaches later.

1. Start the “Create an Account” process - you’ll need to create an account before you can schedule any visits.
2. Enter a valid email address you control - after you submit it, TDCJ will email you a 7-digit validation code and a link to finish registration.
3. Use a permanent email address - once an account is created for an email address, that account can’t be deleted and the email address can’t be changed. If you use a work/school email or an address you might lose access to later, you can end up locked out of your own account.

Pick a password you can remember but others can't guess. A long passphrase works well - something meaningful to you. Write it down somewhere safe so you're not constantly resetting it. If the site rejects your password, check the on-screen requirements and adjust accordingly.

1. Go to the login screen - look for the “Forgot Password/Reset Password” option.
2. Enter the email on your account - this must be the same email you registered with.
3. Click “Forgot Password/Reset Password” - TDCJ will send an email with the steps you need to reset your password.

Once your password is accepted, you'll land on the Background Questionnaire. Answer every question - TDCJ won't let you continue until the entire section is complete. Skip something and you're stuck.

• ✓ If you see red text saying your profile is incomplete, use “Edit my Profile” and fill in what’s missing.
