What Happens After You Request to Add an Inmate to Your Visitation Profile
After you submit a Relationship Request in the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler, approval isn't instant. Here's where your request goes, what each status means, and what to do if you're verified but still can't schedule.
Your Relationship Request goes straight to the inmate's unit of assignment. Staff there verify your relationship to the inmate - and that verification determines whether the person gets added to your visitation profile as an approved relationship.

Tips Reduce Delays
- ✓ Enter the inmate’s TDCJ or SID number exactly as an 8-digit number (missing or extra digits can slow things down or cause the wrong match).
Verification doesn't guarantee you can schedule. It means staff confirmed your relationship - but it doesn't override unit-level visitation limits. If the inmate's visitation privileges have been removed, you can be verified and still not approved to book visits through the system.
