What Happens After You Request to Visit Someone at Rogelio Sanchez State Jail
After you submit a visit request, there's a waiting period while staff confirm your relationship. Here's what that "pending" status actually means, what changes once you're verified, and what to do if you don't see a button to schedule a time.
When you submit a Relationship Request through the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler for someone at Rogelio Sanchez State Jail, it doesn't just stay in the online system. The request gets sent to the inmate's unit, where staff verify the relationship. Until they complete that step, you're in a holding pattern - you've asked to be approved, and the unit needs to confirm it.
While staff review your request, the scheduler shows it as pending. On your visitor home page, you'll see the relationship listed under "Relation Requests Pending Approval." This is normal - it just means the unit hasn't finished confirming the relationship yet.
Once staff confirm the relationship, the entry moves from pending to "Verified Inmate Relations" on your profile. That's when scheduling opens up. If a Schedule Visit button appears next to the person's name, you can pick a visit time through the scheduler.
Even after verification, you might not see a normal scheduling option. Sometimes the Schedule Visit button is blank, or it's replaced with "Call Unit." When that happens, call the inmate's unit directly to arrange the visit - don't try to force it through the online scheduler.
Note: If the relationship is confirmed but the inmate has lost visitation privileges, the scheduler will show "Not Approved for Visits" instead of the Schedule Visit button.
One thing that can slow things down: the Visitors List. For state jail inmates at Rogelio Sanchez, changes to the Visitors List can only be made once every 60 days. If someone is being added or removed, that 60-day window affects when approvals happen and when scheduling becomes available.
