5 Ways to Send Money to an Inmate (and Which Option the TDCJ Calls Free)
Putting money on someone's TDCJ trust fund account? You've got several routes—some fast, some old-school, and one TDCJ specifically calls free.
How to send messages, photos, and packages
To receive calls from an inmate at Roy K. Robb Facility, register your phone number online through Friends & Family Enrollment and enter the inmate's TDCJ ID when prompted. You'll need to confirm you're the registered owner of the number, be at least 18, and make sure your driver license or state ID name matches the phone listing or bill. Inmate phones are generally available 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Each call is limited to 30 minutes, and calls (except attorney-of-record calls) may be monitored and recorded. Calls can only go to home landlines, post-paid cell phones, and pre-paid cell phones—no internet services, 800 numbers, businesses, pay phones, or international numbers. Securus remote video visits last 60 minutes, cost $10, and are limited to one per month. Contact Securus Customer Service if you run into issues.
