How to Schedule, Add, or Cancel a Visit at Rutledge State Prison

Before you can schedule a visit at Rutledge State Prison, you need to be an approved visitor. In Georgia's DOC system, that means completing the Visitation Request Form first. Once approved, you can request a scheduled visit through a separate online form. If you try to schedule before getting approved, your request won't go anywhere - so handle the approval step first.

Note: The Visitation Request Form has to be submitted to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated.

To request a visit, submit your request through the Georgia Department of Corrections online visitation form. Plan to complete this ahead of the day you want to come in - it's not a walk-up system.

Tip: Schedule second, not first - make sure you’ve already completed the Visitation Request Form and become an approved visitor before you submit the online visit request.

Trying to visit on a weekend? Watch the cutoff closely. Requests must be in by 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week. Submit after that, and you're out of luck for that weekend. Don't wait until Friday to try to lock it in.

State holidays have their own deadline: 5:00 PM, three days before each holiday. That window closes fast, especially around long weekends. Decide on your plans early and submit as soon as you can.
