Setting Up Phone Calls from Rutledge: Securus Accounts, Deposit Limits, and Call Rules
Setting up phone calls is straightforward once you know the system. Here's how calls from Rutledge work through Securus, what funding limits apply, and the call restrictions that catch people off guard.
To receive calls, set up a Securus account - either pre-paid collect or direct-bill. You can do this on the Securus Technologies website or by calling 1-800-844-6591. Want calls to reach more than one phone? Securus lets you add multiple numbers to a single pre-paid collect account, so both your cell and home line can receive calls.
Deposits to a Securus pre-paid collect account are capped at $200.00 each. Need to add more? You'll have to split it across multiple deposits - there's no way to load a larger amount all at once.
Note: Calls may be subject to monitoring and recording, so assume anything said on the line could be listened to later.
- ✓ Call forwarding and three-way calling are not permitted.
- ✓ Calls are restricted to only the telephone numbers included on the offender’s Call Allow List.
Calls have a hard time cap of 25 minutes. Even with plenty of funds, the call ends when that limit hits. If you keep getting cut off at the same point, this is why.
- Set up your Securus account first - Use the Securus Technologies website or call 1-800-844-6591 so your number is ready to receive calls.
- Add every number you want to use - If you switch between a cell phone and a home phone, add both to your pre-paid collect account so you’re not scrambling later.
- Make sure your number is on the Call Allow List - Calls can only go to numbers on the offender’s Call Allow List, so confirm the right phone numbers are listed.
- Keep your setup “simple” during calls - Don’t use call forwarding or three-way calling; those features aren’t permitted and can cause problems with completed calls.
Reminder: Calls max out at 25 minutes, and deposits cap at $200.00 each. Keep an eye on your balance and plan deposits ahead of time.
