How to sign up for SIRENS release alerts for Sacramento County Main Jail & RCCC

SIRENS (Sheriff's Inmate Release Elective Notification System) is Sacramento Sheriff's release-alert program. Register once, and you'll get notified when a specific inmate is released. One catch: it only covers the Sacramento County Main Jail and Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC). If your person is housed elsewhere, SIRENS won't help.

After an inmate is released, SIRENS sends you a notification by phone call, text, or email - your choice during sign-up. Alerts go out around the clock, 7 days a week. No waiting for business hours. Registration is free.

Worried about privacy? The inmate won't be told you signed up for release alerts.

1. Go to sacsheriff.com - Start on the Sacramento Sheriff inmate information site.
2. Search for the inmate - Look them up by name or by their XREF number.
3. Open the inmate’s details - Click the inmate’s name to get to the detailed page.
4. Choose the alert option - On the detail page, click the inmate’s name and select “Custody status change notification” to start SIRENS registration for that person.

1. Pick how you want to be notified - Choose phone, text, or email, then click “Continue.”
2. Fill in the required fields - Enter the information the form asks for to finish your registration.

Changed your phone number or email? You'll need to register again with your new info to keep receiving alerts. Just repeat the process: go to sacsheriff.com, search by the inmate's name or XREF, open their detail page, and select
