Before You Drive to St. Lucie County Jail: A 15-Minute Check-In & Visitor Checklist

Get to the St. Lucie County Jail visitation center at least 15 minutes before your scheduled slot. That buffer covers check-in and any hiccups - show up later, and your visit may be canceled outright. One more thing: rule violations here carry real consequences. Break the visitation rules and you could lose not just today's visit, but your future visitation privileges too.

Acceptable IDs

  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Valid driver’s license from another state
  • Valid state ID card
  • Valid passport
  • Valid military ID

Dress conservatively - this isn't the place to find out your outfit doesn't pass. St. Lucie County Jail requires shoes and a shirt at all times. Avoid anything revealing or suggestive. That means no see-through fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, tank tops, short shorts, or mini-skirts. If you're second-guessing an outfit, change before you leave. Violating the dress code can get your visit canceled and your future privileges suspended.

Keep your group small. Up to two visitors can check in per visit, but only one person actually visits the inmate at a time. If you come as a pair, be ready for one of you to wait. Minors aren't allowed - not in the visitation area, not in the lobby. Arrange childcare before you head out. Push past these limits and the facility can cancel your visit on the spot and suspend future privileges.

Leave your phone in the car. St. Lucie County Jail prohibits cell phones and electronic devices in the video visitation area. Bring one in anyway and you risk losing the visit - plus your future visitation privileges. Secure your devices before you walk in so you're not scrambling at check-in.
