What You Need to Know About St. Lucie County Jail's Visit Costs and Free Hours
Visiting costs can add up fast if you're caught off guard. Here's how the free hours work at St. Lucie County Jail, how long visits last, and when you'll start paying per minute.
Each inmate at St. Lucie County Jail gets two free hours of onsite visitation per week. That's typically split into two one-hour visits - not one long two-hour block. Plan around those one-hour sessions.
Visits are capped at one hour. The system ends the session automatically when time's up - even if you're mid-sentence. Plan for that hard stop.
When scheduling, you'll see appointment slots in 15-minute increments. That's just the start time - not the visit length. Every visit still runs the full hour regardless of which slot you pick.
Note: There’s a 15-minute gap between visits for sanitation and visitor check-in, so back-to-back sessions aren’t scheduled without a buffer.
After you've used the two free hours for the week, additional onsite visits cost $0.25 per minute. That rate only kicks in once the free allotment is gone. Keep track of whether your two free one-hour visits have already been used.
