All visits at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center are conducted online. There are no traditional in-person lobby visits. You'll handle the entire process from a phone, tablet, or computer, from scheduling to the actual video call.

Technical Requirements

  • An internet-connected device
  • A webcam (built-in or external)
  • A microphone (built-in or external)
  • Google Chrome (as your browser)
  1. Open the online scheduling/visitation portal - Use the site the jail’s system directs you to for video visiting.
  2. Log in to your account - Sign in with the email and password tied to your visitation account.
  3. Accept the user agreement - Read the agreement and check the boxes next to each statement, then accept.
  4. Select the person you want to visit - Choose your loved one from the list in your account.
  5. Click “Visit Now” - Start the on-demand session. If the person is available, the visit should begin shortly.

A video visit will only go through if there are sufficient funds in at least one place: the inmate's account or a Friends & Family account. If you're the one initiating the visit, expect to be the default payer. The system typically charges the person who starts the video call first.

You won't pay anything up front when you click to start. Payment is collected after the visit ends. Even better, you're only charged for the actual duration. If a visit ends early, you pay for the minutes you used (so a 5-minute visit is billed for 5 minutes).

Quick fix to try first: Make sure you’re using Google Chrome and that your camera and microphone are connected and allowed in your browser settings.

If the problem seems to be on the facility's end (your loved one isn't showing as available, your scheduled time is wrong, or you can't complete the visit even after checking your device setup), call the San Juan County Adult Detention Center at (505) 566-4500.
