How to Video Visit Someone at San Juan County Jail: Scheduling, 'Visit Now', Tech Checklist, and Support

San Juan County Adult Detention Center doesn't offer in-person visits. All visits happen online through video, so plan to use the video visit system.

Note: The inmate account or Friends & Family account must have enough funds before a video visit can start.

You have two options: schedule a visit for later, or try "Visit Now" for an on-demand connection. "Visit Now" starts within minutes if the inmate is available. If they're not, you'll get a notification and can schedule for another time.

"Visit Now" works through the GettingOut/Telmate portal. Log in, complete the agreement screens, select the person you want to visit, and click "Visit Now" to start.

  1. Go to the scheduling site - Open your browser and go to schedule.telmate.com.
  2. Log in to your account - Sign in with your email address and password.
  3. Accept the agreement - Read the agreement, click the check boxes next to each statement, then click “Accept.”
  4. Select the person you want to visit - Choose the inmate from your options.
  5. Start the on-demand visit - Click “Visit Now” to begin.

Reminder: If your visit won't start, check the account balance. Either the inmate account or Friends & Family account needs funds before the video visit can begin.

Click "Visit Now" and the visit should begin within minutes if the inmate is available. If they're not, the system will let you know - schedule a visit for later instead.
