The New Visiting System at San Luis Obispo County Jail: What Changes on April 7, 2025

Starting April 7, 2025, all on-site visits at San Luis Obispo County Jail require an appointment through NCIC (videovisit.ncic.com). No more showing up and hoping to get in - you'll need to schedule ahead of time.

1. Create your NCIC account - Set up your visitor account through the NCIC system at videovisit.ncic.com so you can register and schedule appointments online.
2. Schedule within the allowed window - On-site visits require an appointment, and you can book no more than 7 days in advance.
3. Don’t wait until the last minute - You cannot schedule an on-site visit less than 48 hours before the visit time, so pick your slot at least two days ahead.

The check-in deadline is strict: you must be in line at least 45 minutes before your scheduled visit. Miss that cutoff and the jail will cancel your appointment - even if you booked ahead.

Each inmate can receive two one-hour on-site visits per week. The visiting week runs Sunday through Saturday, so your count resets every Sunday.

Remote video visits cost $0.19 per minute. That adds up fast - a 30-minute call runs about $5.70. Plan what you want to cover so you make the most of your time.
