How Santa Ana Jail's Visiting Schedule Works (week runs Sunday–Saturday)

Santa Ana Jail counts its visitation

The Santa Ana Jail Inmate Visitation page lists weekday visiting slots (Tuesday through Friday) at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. Those evening slots - 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. - are popular with families visiting after work.

A separate City Jail page shows a slightly different Tuesday–Friday schedule: 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. The only difference is the first slot - 10:00 a.m. instead of 11:00 a.m. One hour might not sound like much, but it can mean the difference between making your visit and missing it.

Heads up: Two official pages list different Tuesday–Friday start times (10:00 a.m. vs. 11:00 a.m.). Call the jail to confirm before you travel.

Weekends offer more flexibility. Saturday and Sunday slots are 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. - giving you morning, afternoon, and evening options.

Watch out for daily lobby closures. The jail lobby closes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (effective 05/2022). Show up during those windows and you won't be able to check in.

The City Jail front lobby is open Monday through Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. No overnight or late-night lobby access - plan your arrival within that window.

How Santa Ana Jail's Visiting Schedule Works (week runs Sunday–Saturday)

Inmates at Santa Ana Jail can have two one-hour visits per week. Since the week runs Sunday through Saturday, plan early - decide which two days and time slots you'll use so you don't run out of visits before the week ends.

  • Plan for first-come/first-served check-in - visits are not guaranteed just because you arrive close to the slot time.
  • Build your week around the Sunday–Saturday visitation week so you don’t accidentally use up the two one-hour visits and get turned away.
  • Avoid arriving during lobby closure windows (11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.).
  • Keep front-lobby business hours in mind (Monday–Sunday, 7:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.) when you’re timing your arrival and check-in.

Before you go: The jail's own pages disagree on Tuesday–Friday start times (10:00 a.m. vs. 11:00 a.m.). Call ahead to confirm the current schedule.
