Head to the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler login page. If you've used the system before, log in with your email and password. New to this? Create an account - that's how you'll request approval and schedule your first visit.

Before diving in, confirm your loved one is actually assigned to Sayle Unit. Transfers happen. Scheduling only works when you're using the person's current unit.

Warning: You must create your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account - unit staff can't do it for you. Once you register an email address, the account can't be deleted and that email can't be changed.

  1. Choose “Create an Account” and enter a valid email - this is the email you’ll use to sign in.
  2. Check your email for the 7-digit validation code - the system sends a message with a 7-digit code to confirm it’s really you.
  3. Enter the code in the scheduler - once it accepts the code, you’ll be able to continue.
  4. Create your password and submit - after the validation step, you’ll finish registration by setting your password.

Already have an account but forgot your password? Click "Forgot Password/Reset Password" on the login screen. Enter the email you registered with, and check your inbox for reset instructions.

After setting your password, you'll land on the Background Questionnaire. Every question is required - the system won't let you continue until you've answered them all.

Tip: On your Visitor Profile, enter your phone number like this: “XXX XXX XXXX” (use spaces, not dashes).

When adding the inmate to your profile, you'll need their TDCJ number or SID number. It must be exactly 8 digits. Too few or too many, and the search won't work.

Don't have the TDCJ or SID number? Look it up using the TDCJ Offender Search tool first, then return to the scheduler to add them.

  1. Search and select the inmate - enter the 8-digit TDCJ or SID number and confirm you’ve found the right person.
  2. Choose your relationship - use the relationship dropdown to select how you’re connected.
  3. Submit the relationship request - when you request approval, the scheduler sends your request to the inmate’s unit of assignment.
  4. Wait for unit staff to verify - unit staff review and verify the visitor–inmate relationship; until that’s done, you’ll see that approval is still pending and you won’t be able to schedule.

Once your visitor–inmate relationship is confirmed, head back to your visitor home page. Look for a "Schedule Visit" button next to the inmate's name. If the relationship is approved but the inmate has lost visitation privileges, you'll see "Not Approved for Visits" instead.

Before you commit: Choose an email you'll keep long-term. Once your scheduler account is created, it can't be deleted and the email can't be changed.

Locked out? Go to the login screen, click "Forgot Password/Reset Password," enter your account email, and follow the reset steps sent to your inbox.

Stuck early on? Double-check that you've completed the required steps: you (not unit staff) must create the account, and email validation matters. Make sure you entered a valid email, retrieved the 7-digit validation code from your inbox, and entered it correctly to finish registration.
