Visiting Hours and Schedules at Sayle Unit: What You Need to Know
Planning a visit to the Sayle Unit? The two things that matter most: weekend-only hours and a Monday-to-Sunday visiting cycle that determines how often visits can happen.
Regular in-person visits at the Sayle Unit happen on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you're traveling from out of town, plan around this weekend schedule. It makes coordinating work, childcare, or a long drive much easier.

The Sayle Unit tracks visits on a Monday-through-Sunday cycle. Visit limits reset each Monday, not each calendar weekend. So a Saturday visit and a Sunday visit count toward the same cycle. But a Sunday visit and the following Saturday? Those fall into different cycles.
Visit frequency depends on custody or classification level. For example, people in custody levels G1, J1, or J2 can receive one contact visit per week. Planning multiple visits close together? Confirm your loved one's current classification first so you're not caught off guard by a frequency limit.
Visitation is a privilege, and the Sayle Unit can restrict or cancel it temporarily. This happens during lockdowns, serious incidents (escapes, disturbances), or health and safety emergencies. Even when posted hours stay the same, day-to-day operations can shift quickly when the unit is responding to something urgent.
Before you travel: Call the unit for final confirmation of the inmate’s visitation status and to verify that visitation has not been canceled. This is especially important because visits can be stopped during lockdowns, serious incidents, or health and safety emergencies.
The Sayle Unit also offers remote video visits. These can happen once per month for up to 60 minutes and must be scheduled through the vendor website. Video visits are a good option when you can't make a weekend trip or when in-person visitation is temporarily paused.
