How to Deposit Commissary Money at the Schenectady County Jail Lobby Kiosk

The Cobra Cashier Kiosk is in the main lobby of Schenectady County Corrections at 320 Veeder Ave., Schenectady, NY 12307. You can use it 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to deposit money into an incarcerated person’s commissary account. Before traveling, you may confirm current kiosk hours and fees with Corrections at (518) 388-4300.

The kiosk accepts cash, credit cards and debit cards. For cash deposits, it accepts U.S. currency in $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 denominations.

The convenience fee is $3.25 for a cash transaction and $4.95 for a credit-card transaction. The fee is deducted from the amount deposited into the incarcerated person’s account.

  • ✓ The incarcerated person’s Criminal History Number (CHN), or their full name and date of birth
  • ✓ Cash in an accepted denomination, or a credit or debit card

Kiosk deposits are credited to the incarcerated person’s account immediately, making the money available for commissary purchases. You receive a receipt from the kiosk, and the incarcerated person receives a receipt from the facility.

  1. Go to the Cobra Cashier Kiosk in the correctional facility’s main lobby.
  2. Have the incarcerated person’s CHN available, or use their full name and date of birth.
  3. Make the deposit with cash, a credit card or a debit card. Cash must be in an accepted denomination. The stated cash or credit-card convenience fee is deducted from the amount deposited.
  4. Collect the receipt issued by the kiosk.
