Getting on the Approved Visitors List at SCI Waymart (DC-313 and Forms)

Before you can schedule a visit through Pennsylvania's Inmate Visitation System (IVVS), you need to be on the approved visitors list for the person you want to see. At SCI Waymart, that approval depends on DOC paperwork—especially DC-313 for children—and the inmate's official visitors list.

You can't just create an IVVS account and add any inmate you want. To add someone and schedule a visit, you must already be on their authorized visitors list. This requirement comes from Pennsylvania DOC visiting policy (DC-ADM 812), which sets the rules for visiting privileges at all DOC facilities, including SCI Waymart.

Tip: Before you try to schedule anything, have the inmate confirm you’re on their authorized visitors list. If you’re not on the list, you won’t be able to add them to your visitation account.

Two forms come up repeatedly in DOC visiting procedures. DC-313 (Visitor Inquiry) collects and documents visitor information. DC-311A (Authorized Visitors List) is the official list tied to the inmate - being on this list is what lets IVVS recognize you as an authorized visitor. Both forms are attachments in the DC-ADM 812 visiting procedures manual, the policy framework SCI Waymart follows.

  • Look for DC-313 (Visitor Inquiry) and DC-311A (Authorized Visitors List) in the DC-ADM 812 attachments.
  • Provide accurate identifying and relationship information on the forms - your IVVS registration details are used to validate that you’re on the authorized list.
  • If you’re submitting paperwork, direct it to the facility office that handles visitor processing (commonly records or the mailroom), and keep a copy for your own records.

Bringing children? Plan for an extra step. A DC-313 must be on file for any child before you add the inmate to your visitation account. The good news: minors don't need their own Keystone/IVVS login. You add the child under your account as the parent or guardian, and the DC-313 record covers their participation.

Heads-up: If a child will be part of the visit, make sure their DC-313 is completed and on file before you try to schedule. Missing paperwork can stop the visit cold.

  1. Ask the inmate to verify your status - Have them confirm you’re listed on their DC-311A Authorized Visitors List.
  2. Make sure any required visitor paperwork is on file - This is especially important if children will attend, since a DC-313 must be present for any participating child.
  3. Create your Keystone/IVVS account (adults 18+) - All visitors over 18 must have an account to use the Inmate Visitation System.
  4. Add the inmate in IVVS and confirm you show as approved - If you’re on the authorized visitors list, IVVS should be able to match your account information and allow you to proceed to scheduling.

Reminder: If you're 18 or older, set up your Keystone account early. You need it to use IVVS, and waiting until the last minute will delay scheduling.
