Scheduling Your First Video Visit at Sedgwick County Jail (JailATM)

Sedgwick County Jail uses JailATM for two things you'll need right away: scheduling video visits and adding money to an inmate's account. You'll need to create a JailATM account before you can do either, so start there if you're trying to book a visit.

Deciding between remote and on-site? Here's something worth knowing: each inmate gets one hour of free on-site visitation per week. That might shape how often you visit and whether you save on-site time for longer conversations.

When you register as a remote visitation user for the first time, Detention staff have to approve your account. Approvals only happen Monday through Friday - so if you sign up over the weekend, expect to wait until the next weekday to get cleared.

Tip: If your remote registration gets denied or you hit a snag during setup, contact Detention staff on a weekday (Monday–Friday) when approvals are processed. Have your JailATM account details ready - it'll make troubleshooting faster.

At the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility, all on-site visits happen by video. Every visit must be scheduled at least 24 hours ahead. Don't wait until the day you want to visit - build in that extra day or you'll be turned away.

Planning note: Visits require 24+ hours advance booking, and each inmate gets one free hour of on-site visitation per week. Map out your week before you book so you don't accidentally waste that free slot.

Bringing kids? Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The adult will need to show their own ID during check-in, so come prepared.
