How to Set Up Phone Calls from Sedgwick County Jail (ICSolutions)

Sedgwick County Jail uses ICSolutions for all inmate phone calls. To receive calls from someone inside, you'll need an ICSolutions account first. Without one, calls simply won't connect.

Note: Payments for inmate communications services are paid to ICS (ICSolutions). Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and Sedgwick County Government do not receive proceeds from these services.

Keep Families

Paid calls to U.S. phone numbers cost $0.015 (1.5 cents) per minute at Sedgwick County Jail. Use that rate when adding funds or figuring out how long you can talk.

How to Set Up Phone Calls from Sedgwick County Jail (ICSolutions)

Calls from the jail work two ways: prepaid through the inmate's phone account, or collect to you. If a call isn't connecting, check this first - either there's no money on the prepaid account, or your phone service doesn't accept collect calls.

Keep conversations focused on support and logistics. All outgoing inmate calls are monitored and recorded by law enforcement, and can be used as evidence.

  1. Call the facility and ask for the supervisor - A supervisor at the facility will take emergency incoming telephone calls for inmates.
  2. Explain the emergency clearly - If an emergency is determined to exist, the inmate will be informed.
  3. Be ready for a call-back - The inmate will return the telephone call via the inmate phone services to the caller.
  4. For a verified death in the family, ask about chaplain notification - If a member of the inmate’s family passes away, the facility chaplain will make the notification after verification of the death.
  1. Create or sign in to your ICSolutions account - Sedgwick County Jail requires an ICSolutions account to receive phone calls from an inmate.
  2. Use JailATM for deposits that can be applied to phone use - Sedgwick County Jail states that deposits to an inmate’s account (including funds the inmate can apply to the telephone system) are handled through JailATM, and you must create a JailATM account to add money.
  3. Confirm your funding method before you wait for a call - If you’re expecting calls soon, make sure your account setup is complete and any deposits you made are in place so calls can be prepaid or billed correctly.

Troubleshooting

  • Confirm you created your ICSolutions account (this is required to receive calls from Sedgwick County Jail).
  • Check whether the inmate is calling prepaid through their phone account or as a collect call to you.
  • Verify you’re getting the Keep Families Connected benefit (two free calls per inmate each week, plus two free messages per inmate each week).
  • If you’re paying for calls, confirm you’re budgeting using the posted U.S. rate of $0.015 (1.5 cents) per minute.
  • If you added money for the inmate to use toward phone calls, confirm your JailATM account is set up and your deposit is showing correctly.
  • If everything looks right but calls still aren’t coming through, contact Detention staff for help.

Final note: All charges go to ICS (ICSolutions), not the county. If you've confirmed your accounts and funding but calls still aren't working, contact Detention staff to troubleshoot.
