During classification, every inmate receives a basic hygiene packet. It includes a comb, toothbrush, soap, and toothpaste.

Female inmates can also get feminine hygiene items. Need more than the basics? Additional supplies are available through commissary.

The jail provides on-site dental and medical care on a regular schedule. A dentist visits twice a week, and doctor's sick call happens five times a week at each facility. Nursing staff are on duty around the clock to dispense medications and address medical questions.

Need to revoke a medical-records authorization? You have several options: deliver it in person, mail it to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, fax it to (407) 665-1236, or email it to inmatemedicalrecords@seminolesheriff.org. Whichever method you choose, include the date the original authorization was signed so staff can match your revocation to the right paperwork.

Note: Medical-records authorizations expire one year from the date they’re signed unless the form lists a different expiration date or event.

One way to help from the outside: make sure your loved one has commissary funds. Inmates can buy extra hygiene items there. If someone is indigent, the jail may provide basic hygiene products and writing materials at no cost.
