How to Schedule Your First Video Visit at Seminole County Jail (John E. Polk Correctional Facility)
Seminole County Jail (John E. Polk Correctional Facility) offers two video visit options: on-site and remote. On-site visits are free. Remote visits cost a small fee per session. If you're coming to the jail in person, you'll check in at the main entrance and head to Control 1/Visitation Room for your video visit.
- Create your SmartJail account - You’ll need to set up your account and finish the signup process before you can schedule and start a video visit.
- Complete setup at least 24 hours before your visit - Build in time so your account is ready well before your scheduled appointment.
- Get your QuickAccess code - SmartJail provides a “QuickAccess” code to speed up login when it’s time to start your visit.
- Bring the QuickAccess code with you - If you’re doing an on-site video visit, have the code ready when you arrive for visitation.
Note: If you get locked out of SmartJail, use the “forgot password” process to reset your password and get back into your account.
Video visits at John E. Polk Correctional Facility require an appointment booked at least 24 hours ahead. Same-day scheduling isn't an option, so plan accordingly.
Step3 Checkin
- ✓ Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled visitation time.
- ✓ Bring a government-issued photo ID.
- ✓ Bring your SmartJail QuickAccess code.
- ✓ Check in with Control Room 1 staff and present your government photo ID (and have your QuickAccess code ready).
No-exceptions rule: If you arrive after the start time of your scheduled session, you won’t be allowed to visit - no exceptions.
On-site video visits run 30 minutes each, and inmates can have up to two per day. There's also a weekly cap: four on-site visits per inmate, totaling two hours. If you're coordinating with other family members, keep these limits in mind so you don't accidentally book all the available slots.
Only one adult visitor is allowed per scheduled on-site video visit. If you're coming as a family, decide ahead of time who will attend. You can bring up to two children, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The jail requires adult supervision before, during, and after the visit.
Reminder: All visits are monitored and may be recorded.
Troubleshooting Tips
- ✓ Use SmartJail’s “forgot password” tool if you can’t log in.
- ✓ If you didn’t receive what you need to access your account, use the same tool to re-send the activation code to your email address.
- ✓ Don’t wait until the last minute - complete your SmartJail setup at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit.
- ✓ Save your QuickAccess code somewhere you can find it quickly, and bring it with you on visit day.
Visitation here is a privilege, not a right. The facility can deny, revoke, or limit visits if there's a safety or security concern, or if you don't follow the rules.
