Planning ahead makes visiting easier. Here's what CDCR's visitor resources tell us, plus what you should confirm before you go.
How to visit, scheduling, dress code, and visitor requirements
Visits at Shafter Community Correctional are scheduled online through the visit-scheduling portal. Sign in first, then book or manage your upcoming visits. Returning users log in with a Visitor ID or email and password (use the password-reset option if needed). Reserving a time slot ahead of your trip helps you skip long on-site lines and cuts down your wait when you arrive. You can schedule from a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and some locations also offer video visits or on-site video stations. Before you travel, review the facility page for any site-specific rules, make sure you're approved on the inmate's visiting list, and bring a valid government-issued photo ID. For broader updates, CDCR also points visitors to its tablets rollout page for schedules and FAQs.
