Sending Mail to Someone at Sheboygan County Jail: What Changed with the Digital Mail Center (May 2023)
Sending mail to someone at the Sheboygan County Detention Center? The process changed in May 2023. Here's what's different now, what your loved one actually receives, and which items still need to go directly to the jail.
As of 05/01/2023, the Sheboygan Detention Center no longer accepts personal mail at the facility. Regular letters won't be delivered as physical paper inside the jail anymore.
Now, all incoming personal mail goes through the Securus Digital Mail Center. You send your letter there for processing - not to the detention center itself.
At the Securus Digital Mail Center, your letter gets scanned. Your loved one then views that digital copy on tablets and/or kiosks inside the facility - they won't see the original paper.
Exceptions Must Mail Direct
- ✓ Legal mail must be mailed directly to the Sheboygan Detention Center (not through the Securus Digital Mail Center).
- ✓ Publications must be mailed directly to the facility, and they should be sent directly from a publisher, distributor, or authorized retailer.
- ✓ Money orders must be mailed directly to the Sheboygan Detention Center (not through the Securus Digital Mail Center).
Heads up: Don't send personal letters to the detention center expecting paper delivery. All personal mail gets routed for digital scanning, then viewed on tablets and/or kiosks.
Reminder: Legal mail, publications (from a publisher/distributor/authorized retailer), and money orders work differently. Those still need to be mailed directly to the detention center using the facility's mailing address.
