Before Your First Visit to Skyline: ID, Background Checks, Minors, and ADA Notes

Start with the Visitor Application, following Skyline Correctional Center's specific instructions. Include a copy of your valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. One detail that trips people up: the address on your ID must match the address on your application. If they don't match, your application may be denied.

Once approved, you'll have a background check run automatically every year. One thing to watch: if you go a full year without visiting, you'll be deactivated from the incarcerated person's visiting list. You'd need to reapply to regain access.

Bringing a child under 18? They must be listed on the Visitor Application of the legal guardian or immediate family member accompanying them. Good news: minors don't count toward the twelve (12) approved visitors, so adding your child won't take up an adult slot.

  • If someone other than the parent/legal guardian is bringing the minor: the parent must complete and submit Form 300-01F (Authorization for Minor Child Visitation) per the facility-specific visiting instructions.
  • If the parent/guardian is accompanying the minor: list the minor on the parent/guardian’s Visitor Application and submit a copy of the minor’s birth certificate or an adoption/guardianship order.

Note: If you need ADA accommodations for your visit, contact the facility ADA coordinator as soon as possible - no later than seven business days before your scheduled visit.

Have an active felony or misdemeanor warrant? You won't be approved for visits at Skyline - in-person, non-contact, and video visitation are all off the table. However, you may still be allowed on the incarcerated person's phone list. If you're unsure about your status, check on any outstanding warrants before applying. It saves you from waiting on an application that can't be approved.
