How to Visit Skyline Correctional Center, CO (CO)

Bringing a child under 18? They must be listed on the adult visitor's Visitor Application. The good news: minors don't count toward the twelve (12) approved visitor limit. One thing to watch for: if someone other than the parent or legal guardian is bringing a minor, the parent needs to complete Form 300-01F (Authorization for Minor Child Visitation) and submit it following the facility's visiting instructions.

Your application must include a copy of a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID. The address on your ID needs to match the address on your visiting application, or you may be denied. Once approved, expect a yearly background check. The Department of Corrections reviews all active visitors to check for warrants, detainers, or unresolved criminal cases. If you have an active felony or misdemeanor warrant, you won't be placed on the visiting list. That means no in-person, non-contact, or video visits. Phone calls may still be an option, though, so ask about being added to the phone list if visiting isn't possible.

Video visits have their own rule: everyone who appears on camera must be an approved visitor on the inmate's list. You'll schedule video visits online through Securus. Want to send money for commissary? Colorado Department of Corrections accepts electronic deposits through JPay, Western Union, and GTL. They do not accept money orders or cash sent by mail.

  1. Complete the Visitor Application: This is the starting point for both in-person and video visiting approval.
  2. Attach a copy of your photo ID: Submit a copy of a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Make sure the address on the ID matches the address on your application.
  3. Plan for annual rechecks: Once you are active/approved, a background check is run yearly to confirm you do not have active warrants, detainers, or unresolved criminal cases.
  • List every minor child on the adult visitor’s Visitor Application (minors are not counted toward the twelve (12) approved visitors).
  • If a non-parent/non-guardian is bringing the child, have the parent/legal guardian complete Form 300-01F (Authorization for Minor Child Visitation) and submit it using the facility-specific visiting instructions.
  1. Check for active warrants before you apply: If it is determined you have an active felony or misdemeanor warrant, you will be denied placement on the visiting list and denied in-person, non-contact, and video visitation.
  2. Use the phone list if you cannot visit: Even if visiting is denied due to an active warrant, you may still be able to be placed on the offender’s phone list and have phone calls.
  3. Follow the video-visit approval rule: Every person who will appear on a video visit must be an approved visitor on the inmate’s visiting list.
  4. Schedule video visits through Securus: Video visits are scheduled online through Securus.

Note: Call ahead to confirm the current minor-visitor requirements, including whether Form 300-01F is still the correct authorization form and how Skyline wants it submitted.

Note: Check what ID formats are accepted, how strictly the address-match rule is enforced, and how warrant-related denials are handled when you apply or renew.

Note: Confirm the video-visit scheduling process through Securus and verify that JPay, Western Union, and GTL are still the accepted deposit options. Mailing cash or money orders is not accepted.
