Bring a valid picture ID - you won't get in without one. A driver's license, passport, military ID, or any other verifiable photo ID works, as long as it's current and clearly shows who you are.

  • Weapons (including guns, knives, etc.)
  • Anything you don’t want to keep with you the entire time (reception staff will not watch or store personal property, and they aren’t responsible for items that are lost or stolen - even if you use a locker)

Warning: If you attempt to bring or introduce contraband into the jail, you can be arrested and prosecuted under RCW 9A.76.

Figure out your group size before you go. Snohomish County Jail allows only two people in a visiting kiosk at one time - adults and children combined.

Leave pets at home - they're not allowed inside the building. Trained service animals assisting a person with a disability are the only exception.

  1. Bring only your valid photo ID - you must have a valid picture ID to be allowed to visit.
  2. Empty your pockets and leave extras behind - purses, packages, food/drink, and weapons aren’t allowed in the visiting/secure areas.
  3. Protect your valuables - reception staff will not watch or store personal property and aren’t responsible for items that are lost or stolen, including items placed in lockers.

Reminder: Follow staff instructions and facility rules closely - attempting to bring contraband into the jail can lead to arrest and prosecution under RCW 9A.76.
