Commissary Timing at Snohomish County Jail: when to deposit so your loved one gets their order

Commissary at Snohomish County Jail runs on a weekly cycle, so when you deposit money matters. Inmates place orders on Saturday, and those orders get processed Sunday morning. The balance needs to be in the account before that Saturday cutoff - money that arrives after won't count until the following week.

Deadline: Money must be posted to an inmate’s account by 11:00 p.m. on Saturday for them to receive commissary the following week.

Commissary gets delivered to housing units once a week, somewhere between Tuesday and Friday depending on the unit. If your loved one moves to a different housing unit, their delivery day changes too - so even with consistent deposit timing, the actual arrival day can shift.

Deposits Methods Timing

  • Use Access Secure Deposits any time (24/7) by calling 866-345-1884 or using the Access Corrections website.
  • Deposit in person at the Inmate Account window at the main jail (3025 Oakes Avenue) using cash, cashier’s checks, or money orders; the window is normally open 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week.
  • Don’t mail in money for deposits - inmate account deposits are no longer accepted through the mail (effective May 1, 2022).

Trying to hit that Saturday night cutoff? Speed matters. Access Secure Deposits accepts debit or credit cards and posts funds within about five minutes, around the clock. The downside: you'll pay a non-refundable fee. But if you're depositing close to 11:00 p.m. Saturday, that quick posting time is often the difference between making this week's order and waiting another seven days.

Practical Checklist

  • Pick the deposit method that matches your timeline: Access Secure Deposits for 24/7 speed, or the Inmate Account window if you can get there during its normal 7:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. hours.
  • Make sure the funds are posted before 11:00 p.m. Saturday so your loved one is eligible for commissary the following week.
  • Expect delivery on your loved one’s unit’s commissary day Tuesday through Friday - that day depends on housing.
  • If you’re using the in-person window, plan the trip so you’re not rushing up against the Saturday night cutoff.

Heads up: Debit/credit deposits through Access Secure Deposits post fast, but they come with a non‑refundable fee. Also, don’t send deposit money by mail - mailed deposits aren’t accepted.
