How to Set Up a Video Visit at Snohomish County Jail (Online or On-Site)
Setting up a video visit at Snohomish County Jail comes down to getting registered and approved. Once that's done, you can visit remotely from your own device or use the free kiosks in the jail cashier lobby.
Snohomish County Jail doesn't offer in-person contact visits. All social visits happen by video - either from your own device at home or at the jail's on-site video kiosks.
Video visits are capped at 30 minutes. If you have a lot to discuss, think through your priorities beforehand so you're not scrambling when time runs out.
Note: All social visits are video-only and limited to 30 minutes. Scheduling depends on the inmate's availability - if you're having trouble finding a time, check the troubleshooting tips at the end.
What to Register
- ✓ A valid email address
- ✓ A valid photo ID
- ✓ Your mailing address
- ✓ Your Social Security number
- ✓ Your telephone number
- ✓ A profile photo
Tip: Use information that matches your photo ID. You’ll need a valid picture ID to be allowed to visit, including when you come on-site to use a kiosk.
Prefer visiting in person? Snohomish County Jail has three video kiosks in the cashier lobby. You'll still be doing a video visit (not face-to-face contact), but you'll use the jail's equipment instead of your own device.
The cashier lobby is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you're traveling across town, give yourself extra time so you're not rushing.
You'll still need an account with the inmate communications vendor to use the on-site kiosks. The good news: visits at the jail are free.
- Create your visitor account - on-site video visits still require an account with the inmate communications vendor.
- Go to the cashier lobby during open hours - the lobby is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Use one of the three video visit kiosks - log in at the kiosk and follow the prompts to start your visit.
- Confirm the visit is on-site - coming to the jail makes the video visit free of charge.
Only two adults and/or children can be in a kiosk at once. Larger families will need to take turns.
Bring a valid picture ID. You won’t be allowed to visit without it, and staff will check it before you’re cleared to use the visiting system.
Scheduling can feel confusing because social visits depend on the inmate's availability. The inmate needs to tell you when they're free - jail staff won't share that information with the public.
Heads up: Facility operations (including lockdowns) can affect visits, and every social visit is limited to 30 minutes. Have a backup plan if your first attempt doesn't work out.
- ✓ Gather your registration info before you start (valid email, mailing address, Social Security number, telephone number, and a profile photo)
- ✓ Use a valid photo ID for registration and keep your details consistent
- ✓ Bring a valid picture ID if you’re visiting on-site at the jail kiosks
