How to Register for Video Visits at Snohomish County Jail (what to upload and how visits work)

Anyone who wants to video visit an inmate at Snohomish County Jail must register online first. Family, friends - doesn't matter. Your visitor account needs to be created and approved before you can schedule or start any video visit.

Note: Online registration isn’t optional here. If you haven’t registered (and been approved), you won’t be able to video visit.

What to Provide

  • A valid email address
  • A valid ID
  • A mailing address
  • Your Social Security number (SS#)
  • A telephone number
  • A profile photo

Two uploads trip people up most often: your profile photo and the ID verification. Snohomish County Jail requires a clear selfie plus photos of both the front and back of your state-issued ID or driver's license. Skip any of these, and your account won't be approved.

  1. Take a clear selfie photo - use good lighting and make sure your face is fully visible and in focus.
  2. Photograph the front of your state-issued ID/driver’s license - capture the entire ID (not cropped) so the details can be read.
  3. Photograph the back of your state-issued ID/driver’s license - upload both sides; you need front and back for approval.
  4. Upload all three images to your online registration/profile - your selfie and both sides of the ID are required before you can be approved to video visit.

Note: Your approval depends on these uploads. Missing photos, front-only ID images, or blurry shots will get you denied. If that happens, retake them with better lighting and re-upload.

Snohomish County Jail doesn't allow in-person social visits. All visits happen remotely through the video system - so your time with your loved one will be screen-to-screen.

Visits are short. The maximum is 30 minutes, so log in on time and be ready to connect the moment your visit starts.

Visits can happen on demand when the inmate has access to a tablet or kiosk. The exception: mandatory facility lockdowns. During lockdowns, video visits aren't available - even if you're ready on your end.

Note: The inmate has to tell you when they’re available to visit. Jail staff will not give the public an inmate’s availability information.

Coordinate directly with the inmate. Since visits can happen on demand when they have tablet or kiosk access (lockdowns aside), you need to know when they'll actually be free. The jail won't share an inmate's availability with the public - your loved one has to tell you what times work.

Reminder: Each video visit is limited to 30 minutes.

Troubleshooting Approval Issues

  • Selfie photo is blurry, too dark, or doesn’t clearly show your face
  • Only the front of your ID was uploaded (you must upload front and back)
  • ID photos are unreadable because they’re cropped, angled, or out of focus
  • Required registration details are missing (email, ID, mailing address, SS#, telephone number, or profile photo)
  1. Re-take your photos - get a clear selfie and new photos of the front and back of your state-issued ID/driver’s license.
  2. Double-check your registration fields - confirm you entered your valid email address, valid ID, mailing address, SS#, telephone number, and added a profile photo.
  3. Re-upload the corrected images - make sure all required photos are attached so your account can be approved for video visiting.
