Putting Money on an Inmate’s Account at Snohomish County Jail: online, window, and important limits
Getting money to someone at Snohomish County Jail comes down to choosing the right deposit method and using the correct identifying number. Here are your current options, plus the limits and details that trip people up most often.
You can add money to an inmate's account online or by phone through Access Secure Deposits. Call 866-345-1884 or visit the Access Corrections website to get started.
Need the money there fast? This is your best bet. Access Secure Deposits accepts debit and credit cards and runs 24/7. Deposits post to the inmate's account in about 5 minutes - helpful when someone needs commissary funds right away.
Expect a service charge. Access Secure Deposits adds a non-refundable fee, and you (the depositor) pay it.
- ✓ The inmate’s 7-digit global subject number (you can find it in the Jail Registry)
In Person Window Deposits
- ✓ Cash (in person)
- ✓ Cashier’s checks (in person)
- ✓ Money orders (in person)
- ✓ Deposit location: Inmate Account window at the main jail, 3025 Oakes Avenue, Everett
Heads up: Personal checks are not accepted at the Inmate Account window.
Bringing a money order or cashier's check? Pay attention to the "payable to" line. Make it payable to Snohomish County Corrections (SCC) - not the inmate's name. The jail won't cash it otherwise. Write the inmate's name and their global subject number in the Note/Memo field so staff can post the funds to the right account.
The Inmate Account window's posted hours are 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Schedule change: Due to a staffing shortage, the jail notes that effective Sunday, October 12, 2025, the Inmate Account Window will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hours can change, so verify the current window hours before you make the trip.
Mail deposits are no longer accepted. As of May 1, 2022, the jail stopped processing inmate personal mail deposits - so don't send money through the mail expecting it to reach the account.
Practical Tips
- ✓ Use the inmate’s 7-digit global subject number (get it from the Jail Registry)
- ✓ On money orders/cashier’s checks, write the inmate’s name and global subject number in the Note/Memo field so the funds post correctly
For fast deposits, go with Access Secure Deposits online or by phone. Debit and credit card payments post in about 5 minutes, and the system is available 24/7. You'll pay a non-refundable fee, and you'll need the inmate's 7-digit global subject number handy. Call 866-345-1884 or use the Access Corrections website.
