Every inmate at South County Detention Facility gets two free 30-minute on-site video visits per week. These are your baseline: on-site, video-based, and capped at 30 minutes each.

On-site hours: South County Detention Facility on-site video visitation runs Sunday through Saturday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

Need more time beyond the two free weekly visits? South County allows up to two additional paid on-site video visits per week per inmate. The free visits don't lock you out of visiting more often, but there's still a weekly cap on those extra paid sessions.

Internet video visits run on separate scheduling blocks from on-site visits. The internet windows (Sunday through Saturday) are 7:45 a.m. to 11:05 a.m., 1:00 p.m. to 4:10 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. On-site hours end at 3:40 p.m., so evening visits are only available through internet scheduling.

On-site visits are scheduled at set times, with each session lasting up to 30 minutes. When you pick your slot, make sure it falls within on-site visiting hours (Sunday through Saturday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.) so you don't miss your window.

  • Check in at least five minutes before your scheduled on-site video visit begins.
  • Bring the required ID for each scheduled visitor and be ready to present it at check-in.
  • Plan for a maximum of two people at the visiting station (infants do not count toward the two-person limit).

Recorded and enforced: Video visits are recorded and monitored by Tulare County Sheriff's Office personnel. If you violate visiting regulations, your visit can be terminated immediately. That means losing the time you set aside for that 30-minute session, and you may also lose future visiting privileges.

  1. Pick a time within on-site hours - on-site video visitation is available Sunday through Saturday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
  2. Treat your visit time as a firm appointment - on-site visits run at pre-determined times and last up to 30 minutes.
  3. Arrive with time to check in - you must check in five minutes or more before the scheduled visit starts.

Dress and conduct matter: No nudity, tight-fitting, or provocative clothing is allowed during visits. Violations can get you barred from both off-site and on-site video visitation. Any rule-breaking by the inmate or visitor can also end the visit immediately and result in lost privileges.

Planning to bring multiple family members? Keep the station limit in mind. South County allows no more than two people at an on-site visiting station (infants excluded), so you may need to rotate who attends across your two free weekly visits.
